I’m a dedicated graphic artist with over 20 years of experience in illustration, logo and branding development, publication design, typography and creative copywriting.
I grew up in the red dirt and tall pines of Nevada City, California. An open-ended obsession with colored pencils, mythical beasts, the fluid lines of Art Nouveau and having acres of forest as my backyard resulted in repeated scrawls of unicorns in mysterious woods – which luckily resulted in me drawing pictures for a living.
I am happiest when lost in a drawing, when at the heart of creating and telling a visual story. I work to inform, involve and entertain with versatile imagery and a graphic or illustrative style that’s appropriate to the target audience.
Clients have included Penguin Books, HarperCollins, Hasbro, Safeway, Disney, Girl Scouts UK, Old Navy, Airstream, Amy’s Kitchen, Deckers Shoes and a lot of dear friends.
I also create limited edition screenprinted posters. Hand-pulled, small-batch screenprinting is a refreshing contrast to the unending possibilities of computer aided design. The physical limitations imposed by ink pushed through a fine mesh distills my ideas down to their essence. I find there is a visual punch you can achieve because of these limitations. It has re-taught me how to show and tell with an economy of color, line, texture and detail. My fingers are happily, permanently, ink-stained.
This site showcases some of my favorite prints and design work.
